Mason Tract Canoe Trail
Do yourself a favor this summer and canoe or kayak the best water trail in Michigan. The South Branch of the AuSable River wanders for 15 miles through the heart of a northen Michigan wilderness known as "The Mason Tract". A scenic home for eagles, deer, beaver, mink, otters, fox, and many other native animals.

Canoe and Kayak Trips on Michigan's AuSable River
WECL has four AuSable River one day canoe and kayak trips that range from 1¼ hours to 5½ hours. Trip times are an easy paddle time, and if needed you can ask us for extra time. We like to have all canoes and kayaks off the Mason Tract by 6:00 pm.
Make your Northern Michigan vacation last a little longer, before heading home plan a Sunday canoe trip.
May and September are great for an enjoyable river trip or any weekday when canoe traffic on the AuSable is at a minimum. Saturdays in July and August are busy. Contact us for a reservation and start time. |
Canoe Camping Trips
To drift the captivating AuSable and sleep under the stars is a great family canoe adventure.
Take an overnight canoe trip to McMaster Bridge or plan a week long paddle trip to Lake Huron.
Overnight canoe trips start at $50 per canoe for 1-3 canoes and $45 for 4 or more.
